Mehta Chambers initially started as a family traditional law office in the year 1945 in the City of Jodhpur situated in western Rajasthan. The professional initiation in the legal field was by the legal luminary Mr Lekh Raj Mehta, law graduate from Banaras Hindu University and who did his masters from Lucknow University thereafter. He is the first Masters of Law (LLM) in the State of Rajasthan. He is a well known jurist of eminence, legal authority and who had a law practice of more than 75 years advising numerous clients and appearing for them before various Courts and moreover he in his advance age of 98 years still works enthusiastically and devotes hours for his valued clients. He has done a lot of pro bono work and given legal advices to huge section of the society.
The said law practice was taken over by his son Mr Rajendra Mehta who was a Chartered Accountant turned Lawyer, a Gold medalist in his Bachelors of Law (LLB) as well as in Masters of Law (LLM). He himself was a well known legal and intellectual genius, who ventured additionally into the field of corporate, taxation and company laws, and took the law practice to further heights. He built a big name for himself in the Country in tenure of about 36 years of law practice.
Now since 2004 the law practice of this high repute has been modestly carried forward by his grandson Mr Ramit Mehta who is a rank holder in degree of Commerce & Accounting and has also secured rank in his Law graduation and thereafter stood in the merit list with distinction in Masters of Law (LLM) from world renowned University of Warwick, UK in the stream of International Economic laws and Arbitration. His vision and articulate approach in his undertaking of various tasks has been divergent and has culminated into birth of Mehta Chambers as a multi disciplinary law firm which strives to provide finest legal advice and services in the industry.
